Cha-Cha-Cha-Changes

Tomorrow we will welcome fall, officially. *Happy Dance* Honestly, I've been celebrating since the first little chill appeared in the mornings. Why yes, you would be right presuming visions of beautiful scarves, hot drinks, cute boots, and chilly mornings are dancing around in my head. It's a season to breathe in deep. If you are like me, that will be once you've taken your allergy medicine. The cool air is fresh and cleansing. It's a time to cuddle and watch as God paints a new picture.

That's it! It's new. Change happens when seasons rotate. The same thing is true in our spiritual lives. Seasons come and go, changes shake us up, moments excite us, and sometimes, they leave us undone. Is there not beauty in each season? Sure, you may have to look extra close during the bonechilling cold of winter or the heatstroke provoking summer months, but it's there. You know why? He gives beauty for ashes (Isaiah 61:3). Bonnie Gray- Faith Barista has a lot to say about changing spiritual seasons. Check her out!

Maybe, in your spiritual life, you are dancing in the sun, celebrating the beauty of a sweet season. You enjoy it, but you remember when the sun wasn't shining. Do you lose with each leaf that falls? Are you dead in your spirit as a tree in the throws of winter? Maybe, you are experiencing a beautiful newness that only spring brings?

There is a time for everything,
and a season for every activity under heaven:
a time to be born and a time to die,
a time to plant and a time to uproot,
a time to kill and a time to heal,
a time to tear down and a time to build,
a time to weep and a time to laugh,
a time to mourn and a time to dance,
a time to scatter stones and a time to gather them,
a time to embrace and a time to refrain,
a time to search and a time to give up,
a time to keep and a time to throw away,
a time to tear and a time to mend,
a time to be silent and a time to speak,
a time to love and a time to hate,
a time for war and a time for peace
Ecclesiastes 3:1-8

Fall. Will you hundle close to those you love as the air cools? Enjoy a pumkin spice latte, or two? Four? Ten? Will you will mourn as leaves fall?

Rest- there's a season for them all...

Jennifer I too am SUPER excited for today- the first day of fall! My absolute favorite time of year. THe Pumpkin Spice latte is back at Starbucks, I can wear jeans comfortably, and the colors- oh the colors are my favorite part! Also love your symbolism of changing seasons in our lives. I feel like a snew season is dawning in my life and I am excited (and a little impatient) to see where it leads. Great post! Can't wait to visit again!

Okay, I love the verse. And I just love the last thought..."will you mourn as leaves fall?" That is something to think about in a new way. Love it!

Mourning the leaves that fall...oh, yes. I love picking up those fallen leaves and seeing the beautiful colors in it. Wonder if that's what God does? You got my spirit stirred girl. Life-words that bless me.

"Beauty for ashes" - that line jumped out at me.. beauty is what I hear your words and heart reflecting lately, Jennifer! :) Loved this!

Thank you, Bonnie! "Beaty for ashes" describes the "season" I'm in. I'm learning that beauty comes from loss. You have played a huge role in teaching me that truth. :)
