Heavy Heart for the Babes

Adoption has been on my brain and heart lately. I was listening to a program with the director from Wait No More. It is a organization that puts on events about adoption. If I'm not mistaken, their focus is children in Foster Care. Anywho, the amount of children who are in Foster Care who are not being adopted is unreal. It's so sad. There are babies *I'm referring to any age. Yes, I will be that mom* that need to be loved who are without families. I want to love them. I'm not trying to romanticize adoption. It's hard work, but I have to believe it's worth it. And is it really about me anyway? I'm not trying to oversimplify the situation either. I just want to love the "babies".

One of the many beautiful things about adoption, is the picture it paints of redemption. It's taking a "broken" life and filling it with hope. I think "hope" is one of my favorite words. God took me when I had no "home" and brought me into his family- making me an heir. I went from rags to riches, from hopelessness to eternal hope. I was able to recognize a love I had never known- a love that never fails.Orphans need nurturing and "unfailing" love. I was reading in Psalm 33 today. Verse twenty-two fits what we are talking about.

May your unfailing love rest upon us, O Lord, even as we put our hope in you. vs 22

His love has never failed. Ever. Adoptive parents love will fail. But praise God if you know the love that doesn't fail. You could give a child not only the gift of a loving family, but you could also introduce a child to unfailing love- their hope.

One day I'm going to bring one of the precious "babies" into my family, Lord and husband willing. :)

Until then, I just going to be their advocate.

Praying for the "babies" in need of a Home,
Jennifer

Jennifer,

Adoption is so deeply and profoundly stamped upon my heart that I feel quite certain that I will be adopting as soon as I am ready to begin a family. I am so thankful that God has placed adoption on your heart as well! Also, you, young lady, have one very beautiful heart.
