Do I see you?
When you walk by and your heart is heavy.
Do I notice?
When you carry burdens too old for your young body.
Do I care?
When your tummy is empty and your fears are full.
Do I see you?
When your spirit is low and you have no hope.
Do I notice?
When you wear battle wounds from a life turned violent.
Do I care?
When you need my help?
I hope I see
I pray I notice
But if I ever don't care, I have failed.
