"Therefore I am now going to allure her; I will lead her into the desert and speak tenderly to her. There I will give her back her vineyards, and will make the Valley of Achor a door of hope, as in the day she came up out of Egypt. 'In that day', declares the Lord, 'you will call me 'my husband' ; you will no longer call me 'my master''. Hosea 2:14-16
The desert is normally not very fun...in the beginning. If you patiently wait, God makes Himself known. That's when He begins to speak. His words are tender and sweet, normally flavored with a little discipline. He offers hope for our suffering. Then he DECLARES himself to be our husband. He is no longer called master. His role is more intimately woven into our lives.
He is my husband. I am in desperate need of intimacy with him. He has spoken tenderly over me so many times in my life. With each session in the desert I learn to love and trust him more.
If you read Hosea 2:1-13, you will see the Israelites open defiance of God and God's anger toward them....Then in 14, he "speaks tenderly". I'm in need of discipline in my life, but the sweetest moment is when all is forgiven and he "speaks tenderly".
This is a quick look in to ONE area God is dealing with me in my life. :)

often it is in our loneliest moments, (in the desert) that we are most connected with him/and are in the most need of him. He brings us to the valleys, to sit us down and have special messages for us. Great post..and the picture is so pretty.
This is beautful, Jen. It's an evidence of grace in your life that these seasons draw more trust and love towards the Lord out of you, instead of bitterness.
