Enough with Cheap Love

I'm not settling for the love the world has to offer. It's empty, selfish, and has no value. The world lost love when Eve bit the apple. Sin invaded Love changing it's name to Lust. What was once pure, honest, and self-sacrificing became self-fulling and void.

My heart breaks for those who have never known Love. Unable to define love, they run to what they are told is "love".

If he/she loves me, he/she will please me or To keep him/her I need to "love" him/her enough.

Desiring love for your own security is throwing undeserved authority on another human being. Loving to keep someone is taking on undeserved authority.

God is love (1 John 4:16). Period.

This is love: not that we loved God, but that He loved us and sent His Son as an atoning sacrifice for our sins. Dear friends, since God loved us, we also ought to love one another. No one has ever seen God; but if we love one another, God lives in us and His love is made complete in us. 1 John 4:10-12

Love is the Sacrifice that God made for us, not because we loved Him. It stems from Him. He loved and sacrificed for us first. Do you see how that pertains to marriage?

"Love one another" is not just a phrase God uses to teach us to be nice to our friends and enemies. It encompasses relationships of all kinds. If God's love is not being made complete in us through our present relationships, we may need to take a step back and reevaluate our love. Are we getting this?

Do we really get that God's love is made complete in our relationships? It makes me take a long look at my views of love.

Read 1 John and find Love's definition. Enough with cheap love. I'm ready for the real stuff.

If we took Love for what it truly is and loved every person we come in contact with (family, friends, husband, children, strangers, and enemies), His love would be made complete in us.

In His LOVE,

Jennifer
