"Try a Little Tenderness"

I love stories in the Bible of Jesus and women. There is somethings special about seeing how Jesus related to women. I'm sure it has something to do with me being a woman. But I can't help myself, I love the stories of the adulterous woman, of the woman who washed Jesus feet with her tears, and of the woman with the issue of blood. It may just be my romantic side, but I have to believe that Jesus was the most tender man to ever live.

Have a look:

John 7:53-8:11 (adulterous woman)
Luke7:36-50 (woman who anoints)
Luke 8: 42b-48 (woman with issue of blood)

There is no denying that God created men and women differently. We think differently and we relate differently. Tenderness goes a long way with a woman just ask Sinatra and Buble. I'm not a man, but I don't think tenderness has quite the same effect on them. But Jesus tenderly offered healing to everyone He encountered- men and women. You want to know how to treat people, how to be a Godly husband or wife, or how to grow spiritually? Look at how Jesus lived his earthly life.

Biblical manhood and womanhood is wrapped up in the person of Jesus- respect, love, and submission. Both His love and His submission was to the point of death...

Accepting the tenderness of God is sometimes hard for me. Unfortunately, too often I shrink back in fear like the woman with the issue of blood did when Jesus called out to her. She was fearful because she reached out and "took" his power to heal her. But Jesus response was, "Daughter, your faith has healed you. Go in peace". I love that!

These beautiful stories make me want to break out singing, "Women do get weary....but when she's weary just try a little tenderness".

In His Love,
Jennifer
