Voice of Truth

Voice. We "hear" that word a lot in the blogging world. It is used to describe our unique ways of communicating through words. Differences and similarities, beliefs and convictions, truth and lies are revealed in words through voice. In our uniqueness, our words point to the creativeness of God. We bring Him glory in being the writer's He designed us to be. Voice is a God-thing- a great thing! But we need to be careful how we use our voices and our words.

Do your best to present yourself to God as one approved, a workman who does not need to be ashamed and who correctly handles the word of truth ~2 Timothy 2:15

Most Christian writers, especially in this medium of blogging, use the word of truth on a daily basis. God touches each area of our lives, invading our writing. It's inevitable. That's all fine and dandy, wonderful even, but is He revered? His word honored? The truth revealed?

I'm challenged. So, obviously, I want to challenge you. *love ya* Test your words, your voice, and your intentions. Sharing truth should not be done flippantly. God is Holy. His word? It's sacred, life-altering.

For we are his workmanship, created in Christ Jesus for good works, which God prepared beforehand, that we should walk in them ~Ephesians 2:10

Use your voice with words creatively crafted. It's beautiful, special, and uniquely you.

the Lord—knows the thoughts of man, that they are but a breath ~ Psalm 94:11

Take comfort- you will make mistakes. Our goal should be to grow from glory to glory. Maturity in Christ makes us all the wiser.

And we all, with unveiled face, beholding the glory of the Lord, are being transformed into the same image from one degree of glory to another. For this comes from the Lord who is the Spirit ~2Corinthians 3:18

Good challenge, Jennifer. The words we choose should always reflect the Word. I keep thinking of the Casting Crowns song, "The Voice of Truth"...

I've been guilty of letting me get in the way of God when writing. Often we seek to honor Him and He sees fit to bless us. It is then that we become drunk on the lie that it is our gift... It, and we still belong to Him.

Excellent point and post. Thanks.

*smile*- Melissa

Floyd, I have too. It's so easy to get a on writing rant and forget to write for Him. We do belong to Him mind, body, and words... :)

This is so true! We do need to remember the huge responsibility we have as bloggers. Finding our voice means finding God's and I don't know that I always do Him justice. Thanks for the thought-provoking post! And for stopping by my blog too! :)

Beth, God is so good to give us that responsibility! I know you do an awesome job of flavoring your posts with His word. It's easy to get caught up in writing we forget who we right for. Thanks, Beth!
