My "Aha" Moment

When she heard about Jesus, she came up behind him in the crowd and touched his cloak, because she thought, “If I just touch his clothes, I will be healed (Mark 5:27-28).

I've talked about her before right here. Her story, her faith, and His response...

He said to her, “Daughter, your faith has healed you. Go in peace and be freed from your suffering.” (Mark 5:34).

This morning I was thinking about her story, the instant when she reached out, and I had one of those moments with God. A clear picture came to my mind. All the sudden I was her, but I wasn't reaching out in faith for a healing. Instead, I was clinging to his legs begging to be healed. There it was- my "aha" moment.

Have I ever been her? Have I ever reached out in the mist of my brokenness with faith for healing? Rarely. My style is the more humiliating kind. Begging and pleading, I'll be wrapped around His legs. Where did I get the idea that I needed to convince God to heal me?

Her "walk" to him was a walk of shame, but her touch was one of faith. Read Mark 5, if you want to learn more of her story. She was at the end of her rope. He was her last chance. Was she worried? No. {she thought, “If I just touch his clothes, I will be healed}

Side Note: Do you wonder what her walk home was like? He had healed her. The pain she had endured for twelve years was over. Ah I can't imagine.

He hasn't changed. Your touch is on His radar.

Begging is not necessary. Go in faith.

In His Name,
Jennifer

wow! I am definitely there with you, wrapped around His legs and bawling my eyes out. But He hears much quieter, humbler, believing cries. Thank you, Jennifer!

So right, Rebecca! You know, we're not worthy to just reach out in faith, but in His grace, that's all it takse!
