This Girl Challenges Me

Nope, I never met her. She lives in Uganda. At the age of twenty-two, she has thirteen adopted daughters. And now bookstore shelves hold a book of her life. Her thoughts on that:

I have absolutely no desire to write a book about myself. This is a book about a Christ who is alive today and not only knows but cares about every hair on my head. Yours too. I'm writing this book on the chance that a glimpse into the life of my family and me, full of my stupidity and God's grace, will remind you of this living, loving Christ and what it means to serve Him. I'm writing with the hope that as you cry and laugh with my family you will be encouraged that God still uses flawed human beings to change the world. And if He can use me, He can use you. Katie Davis

I haven't read her book, but I've been reading her blog today. I love reading her thoughts, but just a warning, they are challenging. Since I know how amazing all of you ladies and gents are, I thought you would like to check her out, if you haven't already. You can find her personal blog here and Amazima Ministries here.

You fellow (in)courage followers probably saw that Kisses from Katie made(in)courage's Recommended Reads list for the new year. That post this morning was the first time I had ever heard of Katie Davis or Amazima Ministries.

Anywho, just check her out. You will be challenged. With Christmas this weekend, I need to be challenged.

Merry Christmas!

In His Name,
Jennifer

She has a nice site and I for one have to say it's nice when people challenge us because it does several things first it make us move out of our comfort zones, second it pulls things out of us that we didn't know we had. And change is good...
