I'm Living Well

I just read one of Darlene Schacht's blog's from
I have struggled so long with food. My weight has gone up and down for years. So I am deciding to take a journey toward making God first in every area of my life. My Health is just another area He needs to be first in.

This won't be easy for me and I know I can't do it alone. I love food!! Which is not a bad thing, but it has become a problem. I want to feel good about myself. This journey( I can't think of a better word for it.) is not just about weight. I want to feel good and energized. I want to be healthy and have good control over my hypoglycemia!

If you read my previous blog about my goals for this summer, you know about my struggle with my self-esteem, hypoglycemia, and MSG. This little process I'm beginning will include learning to see myself as God sees me.

I think I'm going to start my days with verses that will remind me of my worth and also that will also remind me that my body is a temple.

Verses:

1) So if the Son sets you free, you will be free indeed. John 8:36, NIV

2) But I need something more! For if I know the law but still can't keep it, and if the power of sin within me keeps sabotaging my best intentions, I obviously need help! I realize that I don't have what it takes. I can will it, but I can't do it. I decide to do good, but I don't really do it; I decide not to do bad, but then I do it anyway. My decisions, such as they are, don't result in actions. Something has gone wrong deep within me and gets the better of me every time. Romans 7:17-20, The Message

3) Do you not know that your body is a temple of the Holy Spirit, who is in you, whom you have received from God? You are not your own; you were bought with a price. Therefore, honor God with your body. 1Cor. 6:19-20, NIV

4) How priceless your unfailing love! Both high and low among men find refuge in the shadow of your wings. Psalm 36:7, NIV

Congratulations! You are on a journey to "die to self". It's a hard road, but one you won't regret. Keep looking at your Father and He'll walk you through the changes.

Welcome to Living Well!! I hope you'll find the encouragement and inspiration here that you're looking for. It sounds like you'll fit right in! Those are great verses; turning to them and relying on those promises will help you succeed on your journey.
