Leaps of Faith or Baby Steps

I am low on time, but today I am participating in a little Blogging fun. Over at http://www.faithbarista.com/2010/04/after-the-rain-say-yes-to-joy-step-1/, Bonnie asked us to write about New Steps in our Faith walk- Are we shedding the old or putting on the new?

Considering the season of my life, this question is an interesting one. It scopes both my physical life and spiritual life. Graduation is fast approaching. With that, comes many decisions. I have to shed old things and put on new things. My spiritual life is in the same limbo. God has been taking me to new places> asking me to trust in ways I am unfamiliar with. We're going deep into the life He has called me to. Although, I am normally completely unaware of what that life is.

I'm putting on new things> Faith in the mist of fear: I stand grounded, when I used to run> Time praying/reading the Word of God, when I used to sleep.

Taking off old things> Jealously> Bitterness> Fear

I have in NO way been made perfect in these things. However, "Pressing on Toward the Goal Not that I have already obtained all this, or have already been made perfect, but I press on to take hold of that for which Christ Jesus took hold of me." Phil 3:12

It's leaps of faith and baby steps....

In His Name,
Jennifer

And this taking of baby steps will never stop - it's a lifelong process. Good post.

When we recognize the opportunities to leap and persist even in a shuffle... we will forever move forward... and upward. Thank you!

All those opposites you listed - the old contrasted with the new -- that is totally what I'm talkin' about.

The truth is that we stand at the cusp of both at all times. I think there's a mistruth out there that when we have the new, we don't see any new. But, in fact, they both want to take place in our hearts.

It's those leaps of faith & babysteps, that somehow God is FAITHFUL to make it into a life that blesses Him and us!

Keep walking, Jennifer! We are all in this same place in faith. It might look different. But, it feels the same. :)

Thanks for taking time out of your busy schedule to share with us at the Faith Barista Jam!
