Letting Go to Store Up

If ye then be risen with Christ, seek those things which are above, where Christ sitteth on the right hand of God. Set your affection on things above, not on things on the earth. For ye are dead, and your life is hid with Christ in God. When Christ, who is our life, shall appear, then shall ye also appear with him in glory (Colossians 3:1-4).

I'm here again wondering how to daily store up treasures in Heaven.

I think storing up is in letting go- letting go of death, hiding our lives in Jesus Christ, and setting our minds on the things of Heaven.

For about a month, I have sensed that God has been calling me to "let go". I've been praying, Lord, what are you asking me to let go of?, with no answer. I just kept going through the motions believing that it would be clear sooner or later. Now, one day before the beginning of Lent, I know what God is asking of me for Lent. Maybe this is what He has been preparing me for. I'm "letting go" of sugar through Lent. Since, He knows (in every sense of the word) me, I know He's not surprised that this will be hard for me. I'm not sure how this is going to play out over the next forty days. But I want to learn to worship Him in sacrifice.

I'm seeking those things which are above.

So, I'm curious. Are any of you guys observing Lent this year? If so and if you want to share, I would love to hear from you!

In His Name,
Jennifer

This is the very reason I wish we lived closer. When we parted ways the other day, I thought of about 15 more topics of conversation that we didn't even get to - things I've been meaning to tell you and ask about in your life. GOSH.

Me too! I realized we barely talked about Uganda. We need more time. :)
